Glyna Studio is a small-batch ceramics studio run by Inna Valchuk located in Gananoque, Ontario. Glyna (укр. Глина) means clay in Ukrainian. Even though many elements are involved in the process of creating a ceramic piece, glyna is the most essential element.
I took my first pottery workshop over 9 years ago as a fun family activity. Over the years, I kept returning to pottery. I was a member at five different studios and always had limited hours to work on my craft. It had always been my dream to create pottery in my own studio, so in September 2023, I decided to set up a studio space in a corner of my living room, where I could fit a shelf, table, and small pottery wheel. That was the beginning of Glyna Studio.
Shortly after, my partner and I moved to Gananoque, a small town on the St. Lawrence River. Moving to a new house allowed me to dedicate a whole room to pottery and have more space to create. Right now, I am practicing different techniques and styles to find my unique style.
